Practise look Illamasqua timed assessment and textures

Original idea
Originally for my timed assessment idea I had a plan of using fullers earth to create this cracked illusion on the eyes and lips. I practised applying fullers earth on both my eyes applying it onto one of my eyelids thick and the other more thinly. When using fullers earth you have to mix it with water to form a more liquid based product, this had been worrying me for the timed assessment that I wouldn't be able to mix it to the right consistency needed, and also the applying of it and drying time, on top of applying another product over the fullers earth to give the allusion of a textured make up application. I practised applying the fullers earth on my eyes and it did not go well, it felt uncomfortable especially the one which I applied more thickly. I dried the fullers earth moving the hair dryer from right to left as I did not want to burn my face or make my eyes drastically water, this felt ok but took a while for the fullers earth to dry. On the eye in which I applied a thinner layer of fullers earth it dried quicker, I did not have a massive cracked effect like I wanted and when I touched or tried to apply stuff to it, it just sort of crumbled of and did not work. The fullers earth that I applied more thickly on the other eye took ages to dry and even after drying for ages was not fully dry still this also felt very uncomfortable on my eyes, even though this did start to crack I had to remove it straight away as I could not open my eye properly. For the timed assessment I realised this would be a very risky idea to do and if I was going to do it properly it would properly need a lot more time and more practise which meant I had to think of another idea quick still with the theme of texture.
New idea
I was annoyed and disappointed I was not able to do my original idea and had to change and think of a new idea in a short amount of time, that would be more time sufficient and needed less practise for the timed assessment. I decided to stick to the idea of using texture on the face mainly on the eyelids I played around with some latex and different materials to give an unusual effect resulting in the latex piece created in pictures below. This latex piece had different materials in such as string, lace, food dye, etc, giving it an unusual effect. I though I could use this in the same way Alex Box and Pat McGrath had used materials such as latex on the eyes to give an unusual textural effect. Along with this eye look I wanted the skin to be fresh and dewy with quite heavy contouring not so blended in to the skin, I also wanted to add eye-liner just to define the eyes more and show a little bit more technique to the look that just applying latex over the eyes and eyebrows. To apply the latex pieces I would have to block the eyebrows out so that these latex pieces could be placed and stuck over the top of them and also to check my model was ok to have this done. I wanted the hair to keep within the theme of texture and also to challenge myself as I am not as strong in hair I  wanted to create a big textured plait around the head pulling it out onto the head adding effect.
